Rochelle Burgess is a business consultant with over 25 years of experience in Organizational Development and Human Resources management, in multiple divisions within Fortune 500 companies. She was associated with Xerox Corporation, TRW, Experian and First American Corporation. She has developed and implemented a series of management and leadership development programs in the areas of organizational change initiatives, performance management, succession planning, and career development. She has played major roles in supporting mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, workforce planning, training programs, team building and process improvement. Rochelle has worked extensively with sales organizations, developing specific strategies and operational programs to improve selection, training, motivation, and retention of valued, high performing professionals. Her expertise has enabled clients to build effective incentive plans that were rewarding and motivating, while focused on the key business drivers and initiatives, contributing in one organization to a 100% increase in revenue within two years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan, and a Master’s Degree from Chapman University. She is currently writing her doctoral dissertation at Argosy University on the mix of the four generations in the workplace, specifically the feedback and communication between Generation X and Generation Y. Rochelle is also an adjunct faculty member of the national award winning Organizational Leadership program at Chapman University. Rochelle develops and facilitates both graduate and under-graduate level classes in Leadership and Team Development, Contemporary Issues in Organizations, and a Senior Capstone Research Project. Rochelle was instrumental in designing the initial curriculum for the Business and Organizational Coaching Certificate Program at Chapman University, and she has been a faculty member of the Coaching Certificate Program at San Diego State University. Rochelle is a certified facilitator of personal and organizational assessment instruments including MBTI, DiSC, Firo-B, CARE team roles, and various 360-degree multi-rater processes. She has used these assessment tools successfully in both the corporate and academic environments, emphasizing that effective facilitation is critical in giving feedback to participants and respondents relative to these instruments. Rochelle is an active member of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and. Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA). Rick Vanderkam, Team Building Expert Rick is the founder of The Van Arend Company, an organizational development company whose teambuilding events have brought new levels of effectiveness to organizations locally and internationally. With twenty-five years of experience in small group dynamics and applied transformational education theory, Rick brings a deep knowledge of experiential learning to his thought provoking staff development sessions. Rick’s professional background is diverse, ranging from ten years as a business owner in plastic injection mold making, to public and private education, to organizational development consulting. His coaching and leadership development efforts have benefited faith-based ministries, Fortune 500 companies, private social service organizations, and city governments. A doctoral student at Fielding Graduate University, Rick is studying leadership and change dynamics as related to education. He is a student of our culture’s responses to unprecedented magnitudes of change, and how organizational learning processes construct stability and growth. Rick is on the Chapman University’s Extended Education Advisory Board, a faculty member of Chapman’s Leadership Services Group, and a member of American Educational Research Association. He is a founding faculty member of Wheatstone Academy. Rick has helped to create and deliver programs aimed at society’s most persistent problems. These included gang intervention with Choices Youth Programs, young adult education programs for Rising Tide Transitional Housing Program (Orangewood Foundation), staff coaching for Girls and Boys Town, and youth moral and ethical development for many faith-based organizations locally and internationally.
